Likely going to work in Montreal for House of Friendship as 'Volunteer Coordinator'. Scary responsible for other people in two languages kind of real job thing. Perhaps will become sophisticated bilingual Montreal vixen-type person.

One good thing about being in Grimsby is that my car radio picks up more stations. No longer do I have to choose between 'chime fm' and 'kool fm'. Tonight, I listened to country. Because I can.

So...MVS interview tomorrow morning!
Then Poll Clerk training in the afternoon. Guess I'm not as special as my dad, he's a Senior Deputy Returning Officer or something. Easy day's work, anyway.

One good thing about sitting around home doing very little is that I actually get to satisfy my reading cravings for a change. Recent and recommended: For historical fiction fans- Falls the Shadow by Sharon Kay Penman, about the Welsh royal family in the 13th cen. Mary Queen of Scotland and the Isles a big chunk of reading, but super interesting (if you care about 16th cen. England...). For some lighter interests, I just finished All American Girl by Meg Cabot (of the Princess Diaries) Good fun and about on par with the later PDs, not as good as the first one, though.
If non-fiction is more your thing, definitely read War Is a Force That Gives Us Meaning by Chris Hedges (?). He was a journalist that covered pretty much every major conflict since Vietnam. Scary and good. Need inspiration? Living Buddha, Living Christ by Thich Nhat Hahn is great so far, but I'm not quite done yet.
Ahhh reading luxury. Guess I'd better enjoy it while it lasts!

Monday, September 8th. I HANDED IT IN!!!! No more thesis for me! I don't care what mark I get, as long as they give me that darn degree (which they will have to, because I even went and paid my outstanding library fines this morning...)
Next plan: Mennonite Voluntary Service (yes, I have decided to go!) All I have to do now is wait for my application to get processed, then off to...??? Somewhere cool, I hope!

"Ough" can be pronounced in eight different ways. The following sentence contains them all: "A rough-coated, dough-faced ploughman strode through the streets of Scarborough, coughing and hiccoughing thoughtfully.

My little bro Jim just won the "Most Hardcore Frosh" award at Queen's engineering...oh Jim....are we surprised? (He was probably the only frosh to go out for drinks with the Matt Good Band after the frosh concert too- apparently they were buying, what a shmooze)
